Work in Progress, WiP for short, is a meeting for all postgraduate members of the School of English at Sheffield University to hear their peers’ current work or to present their own. WiP is intended to be an informal and friendly atmosphere to present work, and receive help and feedback on research…we provide drinks and biscuits after your talk too.
Sessions in the past have been in a mixture of formats: test pieces prior to delivery at a conference, the presentation of an issue in research for discussion, a critical analysis of a text or methodology prior to inclusion in research, selection and presentation of a particular article or text for discussion…the list goes on.
We welcome anyone who has some work they’d like to try out or discuss with peers from the School of English to contact us (details below), we’re always looking for volunteers to help us fill the weekly WiP slot:
Wednesdays 5-6pm in Meeting Room HUB3 (10) in Jessop West (3rd floor), Jessop West, Upper Hanover Street, The University of Sheffield
